Reimbursement Act amended to strengthen Health Technology Assessment

On 25 July 2025, Poland amended the Reimbursement Act, aligning national
procedures with EU Regulation 2021/2282 on health technology
assessment. The reform streamlines reimbursement for medicines, medical
devices, and cross-border healthcare services. It empowers the Agency
for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System (AOTMiT) to conduct
EU-level clinical evaluations to accelerate access to innovative
therapies. It also introduces the obligation to take into account
reports and documentation from the EU Health Technology Assessment
platform when making reimbursement decisions. It sets out the rules for
determining the level of innovation for medicinal technologies and for
using clinical assessments available within the European Union.
